# Vintage and Antique Policy

## Approved Vintage & Antique Items on Palmstreet

### How Palmstreet Defines “Vintage” and “Antiques”

Palmstreet aligns with widely used industry standards:

* **Vintage:** generally 20 years old or older
* **Antique:** generally 100 years old or older

To qualify as Vintage & Antiques, items should be:

* **Vintage (20+ years)** or **Antique (100+ years)**
* Authentic to their era (not modern reproductions)
* Primarily aligned with vintage/antique categories (home goods, decor, collectibles, art, furniture, jewelry/accessories that are truly vintage, etc.)

#### Product Examples that Qualify

* Vintage ceramics, glassware, artwork, frames
* Antique decorative objects and true antiques
* Original mid-century decor (not reproductions)
* Vintage textiles, rugs, and linens
* Vintage jewelry/accessories that meet the 20+ year standard

#### What Does Not Qualify

The following do **not** belong in the Vintage & Antiques tab:

* Brand-new retail items
* Recently manufactured items made in a vintage style
* Modern mass-produced imports
* Reproductions (even if “vintage style”)
* General merchandise not aligned with vintage/antiques (e.g., new apparel, personal care items, hardware)
* Miscellaneous liquidation/storage-unit pulls that aren’t clearly vintage/antique

If an item is new or recently manufactured, it does not qualify — even if it looks “retro.”

### Can Sellers Mix New and Vintage Items?

This tab is intended to feature **primarily vintage and antique inventory**. The majority of inventory in a Vintage & Antiques show must meet the 20+ year or 100+ year standard.

Small amounts of complementary modern items may be acceptable only if they are:

* Clearly labeled as new
* Minimal and supportive of the primary vintage/antique assortment (e.g., modern display stands, protective sleeves, basic add-ons)

However, streams should not:

* Be majority new merchandise
* Blend large amounts of new retail with vintage/antiques
* Shift into general resale/liquidation or miscellaneous goods

If your primary inventory is new or mixed merchandise, you may be a better fit for another category.

### Guidelines & Enforcement

Going forward, Palmstreet institutes the following adjustments:

* Sellers should ensure the majority of items in Vintage & Antiques livestreams meet the 20+ year (vintage) or 100+ year (antique) standard.
* Sellers are responsible for accurately representing the age and origin of their items.
* Accounts repeatedly streaming non-vintage items may be reassigned to a different category.
* Our team will continue reviewing listings and streams to keep the category consistent.

If you’re unsure whether your inventory qualifies, reach out — we’re happy to help.

### Our Commitment

Palmstreet is committed to supporting our Vintage & Antiques seller community and maintaining a marketplace buyers can trust.
