Palmstreet LIVE Selling Host Guide: How to Grow Your LIVE Sales

Hosting a live show on Palmstreet is a fun way to engage your audience, showcase your products, and increase sales. No matter the product or category your shop falls under, any live host can use these tips to keep viewers entertained, eager to buy, and coming back for more live after live.

Live Selling Basics

1. Keep the Energy Up – Move Through Products Quickly

  • Tip: Highlight a new product every 2–3 minutes.

  • Why: Viewers stay engaged when the pace is lively. Too much focus on one product can slow momentum and risk losing attention.

Pro Tip: Prep a quick intro for each item to make transitions smooth and keep the energy high.

2. Make Products Easy to Buy

  • Have Products Uploaded & Visible: Many users pop in and out of lives browsing live shops. Ensure the majority of products you plan to sell are already listed in your Palmstreet shop and easy to view. You can even list auction items as mystery items to showcase how many items you have to offer.

Pro Tip: Arrange products in the order you plan to showcase them so you can pull them up instantly during the show.

  • Choosing Not to Pre-List: If you prefer not to pre-list items, use your Palmstreet show notes to list item types so viewers know what to expect. Verbally remind your audience what's available often throughout the show.

P.S. There is a character limit to the show notes. You may not be able to showcase everything you have with written words.

3. Create Excitement With Special Offers

  • Flash Sales: Integrate short, time-limited discounts to encourage immediate purchases from your audience using the Flash Sale feature.

  • On-Air Bundles: Pair complementary products together and offer a special price only during the live show.

  • Mystery Bundles: Switch up your product offering types and build intrigue by offering a surprise selection of items at a bundled price.

  • Buy Now: Always have items available as Buy Now in your show. If you run something as an Auction item, convert it to an available Buy Now listing for new users coming in to see.

4. Keep the Audience Engaged

  • Giveaways: Offer a variety of small, medium, or large prizes every 10 minutes (or less) to reward engagement and keep viewers watching. Leverage the built in entry requirements in the Palmstreet Giveaway feature.

  • Interactive Moments: Create an interactive environment by asking viewers questions, encouraging comments, and acknowledging viewers responses to maintain a lively show.

  • Highlight Winners and Buyers In Real Time: Announce giveaway winners or buyers purchasing product quickly on-air to keep excitement high and encourage participation. Users feel seen when their usernames are mentioned!

  • Item Description: Talk about items with very descriptive words, demo the product (if possible), and be sure to

Quick Wins

  • Smile and greet new viewers by name when possible.

  • Use upbeat, conversational language. This makes viewers feel part of a community, not just another sale.

  • Remind viewers where to buy products and how to access deals without being pushy.

1. High Energy & Enthusiasm

  • Excitement is contagious. Viewers feed off your energy.

  • Smile, use expressive gestures, and speak with passion about your products.

  • Quick pacing keeps attention—no dragging on one product too long.

2. Product Knowledge & Confidence

  • Know your products inside and out: features, benefits, sizing, materials, etc.

  • Be ready to answer questions in real time.

  • Confident hosts build trust! Viewers are more likely to buy from someone who seems knowledgeable and reliable.

3. Clear & Persuasive Communication

  • Speak clearly and concisely. Avoid long, confusing descriptions.

  • Highlight why a product matters or what is special about the item. Explain how an item solves a problem or showcase what is unique about the item so viewers feel more inclined to purchase. It might just be a good deal! Make sure viewers know that.

  • Use storytelling when possible: “I love this because…” or “Here’s how it made my day easier…”

4. Audience Engagement

  • Interact constantly: greet viewers, answer questions, and call out comments.

  • Use polls, questions, or mini games to keep the audience involved.

  • Make viewers feel seen—they’re more likely to buy if they feel connected to you.

5. Strategic Selling

  • Move quickly through products to maintain momentum. If you’d like to increase retention and average order value, here’s a suggestion for how to stagger products during your shows.

    • How to structure your lineup:

      • Start: mid-tier item (easy entry)

      • Early: “wow item” (hook audience)

      • Middle: volume sellers

      • End: rare or premium items

  • For every product, hosts should hit:

    1. Hook → “Wait till you see this…”

    2. Show → demo clearly

    3. Story → why it matters

    4. Urgency → “I only have X amount”

    5. CTA → “Tap the pinned item to purchase”

  • If relatable, use urgency tactics: flash sales, limited stock, or “while supplies last.”

  • Bundle items or offer mystery deals to encourage higher cart value.

  • Mix price points—offer small items for first-time buyers and larger bundles for repeat viewers.

6. Authenticity & Relatability

  • Be yourself. Overly scripted or salesy hosts turn people off.

  • Share personal stories, preferences, or experiences with products.

Humor, warmth, and a friendly tone create loyalty—people buy from hosts they like and trust.

7. Tech Savvy

  • Make sure your camera, lighting, and sound are good. Viewers notice professionalism.

  • Show products clearly; zoom in on details.

  • Be ready to troubleshoot small technical issues without panicking. It keeps the show smooth and the audience never needs to know!

8. Consistency

  • Successful hosts and Palmstreet sellers show up regularly and build an audience over time.

  • Familiarity breeds trust. Viewers return to hosts they know will entertain and offer great deals. If your account rotates hosts, include a photo of the host for that in in the LIVE cover photo, mention their name in the show title, announce who the next live will be hosted by when you are closing out a show.

9. Upgrade “Engagement” → “Conversion Through Chat”

  • Turn questions into demos:

    • If a user says anything about how an item fits, or how big something this, make it a moment.

      • “Someone asked about size — let me show you”

  • Use usernames strategically:

    • “@SaraBeara20 this is your plant”

  • Repeat buyer’s usernames instantly when a purchase is made or a comment is sent.

    • This turns a passive chat into a group of active buyers

10. Follow the “NO DEAD AIR” RULE

  • Always narrate your actions and the things around you. Silence = Drop Off

    • “I’m grabbing the next item…”

    • “This one is crazy…”

    • “You guys are going to love this…”
