# How to run a Break during a LIVE

Breaks let you sell collectibles during a LIVE by dividing a sealed product or group of products into **spots**. Buyers purchase spots, and each sold spot is assigned a team. You then open the products live, and the revealed items are allocated to buyers based on their assigned teams.

With Palmstreet Breaks, you can create Break listings, sell spots, assign teams, and manage the entire process directly from [Seller Hub](https://seller.palmstreet.app/) during your LIVE.

### What you can do with Breaks

With Breaks on Palmstreet, sellers can:

* Create a Break and configure the teams included in it
* Sell Break spots during a LIVE
* Use Palmstreet's built-in randomizer to assign teams
* Review and update team assignments when needed
* Use an external randomizer and enter the resulting assignments
* Start and finish the Break directly from [Seller Hub](https://seller.palmstreet.app/)

### Create a Break

1. In [Seller Hub](https://seller.palmstreet.app/), create a new listing and select **Auction**. Under **Selling format**, select **Break**.
2. Configure your Break settings:
   * **Break format:** Random team is the default format, where teams are randomly assigned to spots.
   * **Use your randomizer (optional):** Enable this if you prefer to use an external randomizer and manually select the winning team.
   * **Quick spin (optional):** Enable this to speed up the team reveal animation.
3. Under **Break teams**, set up your team list using one of the following options:
   * **Upload CSV:** Import a team list from a CSV file.
   * **Choose template:** Select a predefined team list.
   * **Add teams:** Manually add teams to your Break.
4. Review your listing details and Break settings, then select **Create listing**.

**Note:** Break creation and selling are currently supported in [Seller Hub](https://seller.palmstreet.app/), not the Palmstreet mobile app. Review your team list carefully before selling spots, as it cannot be changed once the first spot is sold.

### Sell Break spots during a LIVE

1. Add your Break listing to your LIVE and pin it when you're ready to sell.
2. Start selling spots through auctions.
3. As buyers complete their purchases, track the number of sold and available spots.
4. Continue selling spots until you're ready to start the Break.

### Assign teams

After selling spots, you can assign teams using either of the following methods:

* **Built-in randomizer:** Use Palmstreet's randomizer to assign an available team to each sold spot.
* **External randomizer:** Use your preferred randomization tool and enter the resulting team assignments in Seller Hub.

Once a team is assigned, both you and the buyer can view the assignment.

If you need to change an assignment before the Break is finished, you can clear the current assignment, assign a different available team, or randomize again.

**Tip:** You can also use team assignments for interactive formats like **Stash** or **Pass or Spin to Get One**. After purchasing a spot, buyers can choose whether to keep their assigned team or spin again for a different one. You can then update the assignment in Seller Hub based on their choice.

### Start Breaking

When spot selling is complete and the products are ready to be opened, select **Start Breaking**.

The Break will move from **Filling** to **Breaking**. Buyers who purchased spots can continue to see their team assignments while the products are opened during the LIVE.

As you open the sealed products, assign the revealed cards or players to their corresponding teams.

You don't need to sell every spot before starting a Break, but make sure buyers understand their team assignments before opening the products.

**Note:** Once Breaking begins, no additional spots can be sold in that Break.

### Finish the Break

After all products have been opened, review the results and make sure:

* Every sold spot has an assigned team.
* All revealed cards or players have been allocated to the correct teams.

Once everything has been checked, select **End Break**. You can then proceed with Palmstreet's standard order and fulfillment process.

### Rules & Best Practices

Keep your Break **fair, transparent, and easy for buyers to understand**.

* Clearly explain the Break format and assignment rules before selling spots.
* Use a fair and consistent method for team assignments.
* Do not change the rules after buyers have purchased spots.
* Make sure the final assignments in Seller Hub match the actual Break results.
* Follow Palmstreet's platform policies and selling rules.
