How to use Mystery Box in your LIVE
Mystery Box is Palmstreet’s platform management tool for sellers who want to add variety and engagement to their livestream sales. With Mystery Box, you create a pool of items, sell orders through auctions, and use Palmstreet’s system to automatically allocate one item to each buyer during a live display. Each completed order always corresponds to a real item. Sellers do not manually assign results.
Important: Before using Mystery Box, sellers must review and follow Palmstreet’s official Mystery Box Policy, which outlines platform rules, compliance requirements, and seller responsibilities.
Note: Mystery Box is not enabled by default for live categories including Plants, Reptile, Invertebrate, and Aquatic. A limited number of sellers in these categories may be eligible to use Mystery Box with prior approval. To confirm eligibility or request access, please contact your Palmstreet representative.
What Is Mystery Box?
Mystery Box allows sellers to run batches of orders where each completed order is allocated one guaranteed item from a disclosed item pool. Palmstreet manages the allocation process using system-controlled randomization to ensure consistency and fairness.
Mystery Box is great for:
Adding variety to your show
Encouraging audience participation
Running themed or mixed-item sales
Managing multiple auction rounds efficiently
Rules When Using Mystery Box
Transparency is key for using our Mystery Box feature successfully. Make sure that you follow these rules:
All possible mystery items should be displayed during your live. Here is a good example of a seller showing all options:
Sellers must clearly illustrate what options are available to winners in the item listings by adding descriptive titles and descriptions. Here is an example of a seller using this correctly:
In the show notes, make sure that you clearly disclose the Minimum and Maximum value of the items buyers are bidding on, along with the number of items that are “hot”. Here’s an example of a seller with great show notes:

How to Run Mystery Box During Your Livestream
Mystery Box listings are marked with a 📦 icon, making them easy to identify. If no image is uploaded, Palmstreet will display a default Mystery Box image.
Start a Mystery Box
Once your Mystery Box listing is ready, you can start it directly from your livestream:
Start Auction: Tap the Shop icon, find your Mystery Box listing, and tap Start auction to begin a round.
Item Allocation: After a buyer completes payment, Palmstreet automatically allocates an item from the predefined pool and displays the assignment with a short animation visible to both the seller and the buyer.
Start Next Batch: Tap Run Next to continue to the next batch using the remaining items.

Manage and Edit Your Mystery Box Listing
Before the listing is pinned: You can edit all details, including the items inside the Mystery Box.
After it has been pinned and some slots are sold: You may still edit basic listing details, but the item pool is locked to ensure buyers receive items from the original configuration.

View Your Mystery Box Details During the Live
During your livestream, you can tap the Mystery Box listing to view:
How many items remain in the pool
Which items are marked as Hot
Which items have been allocated and which buyers received them
This helps you monitor progress and manage each batch smoothly.

After the Stream: How to Check What Each Buyer Received
After your livestream ends, you can review all Mystery Box order results:
Go to Profile > Setting ⚙️ > My sales.
For Mystery Box orders, the product name will include the Mystery Box name, batch number, and the item allocated to the buyer.

How the Item Reveal Works
Items are allocated by Palmstreet’s system using a predefined randomization process.
Allocation occurs only after an order is completed and payment is successful.
Each completed order receives one real item from the disclosed item pool.
Sellers cannot manually select, swap, or influence item allocation.
