How shipping insurance works on Palmstreet
Shipping insurance is an optional protection you can add when purchasing a shipping label on Palmstreet. It helps cover your eligible package in case it is lost or damaged during transit.
Shipping insurance on Palmstreet is provided through XCover, a global insurance platform that specializes in shipping and ecommerce protection.
This feature is currently available to whitelisted sellers only and is not yet enabled across all accounts.

How to add shipping insurance
You can add shipping insurance when purchasing a shipping label on Seller Hub.
Go to Seller Hub > Shipments
Turn Shipping insurance on during label purchase
Complete your purchase
Shipping insurance must be added before the label is purchased.

Signature Confirmation
Signature confirmation means the recipient must sign when the package is delivered.
You can select Require signature on delivery when purchasing a shipping label. Signature confirmation can be added with or without Shipping Insurance.
For certain high-value items, such as jewelry and watches, shipments valued at $250 or more require signature confirmation to qualify for shipping insurance.
What happens when you add shipping insurance?
When you add shipping insurance to your shipment:
An XCover account is automatically created using the email address listed in your Ship From details at the time of label purchase.
No separate signup or password setup is required
You can use this account to file and track claims directly with XCover if needed
You’ll receive instructions from XCover if you ever need to access your account.
What does shipping insurance cover?
Shipping insurance typically covers:
Packages lost during transit
Packages damaged during transit
Coverage applies to shipments made using Palmstreet-purchased shipping labels and is generally based on the declared shipment value.
What is not covered?
Shipping Insurance does not cover:
Live plants or live animals
Items not properly packaged to withstand normal transit conditions
Shipments that do not meet signature requirements when applicable
Certain restricted items or destinations
Some product categories may also be subject to deductibles or additional conditions.

How to file a claim
If your insured shipment is lost or arrives damaged, you can file a claim directly with XCover.
How it works:
Once the issue is confirmed, go to XCover’s claims
Log in using the email address associated with your shipment
Submit the required information (such as tracking details or photos)
Track your claim status directly in XCover
Palmstreet does not process insurance claims directly, but XCover’s team will guide you through the process.
