How to Use Weather Check for Temperature-Sensitive Shipments

Shipping live plants or temperature-sensitive products during extreme weather can be risky. Weather Check helps you ship smarter by checking the forecast at your buyer’s location — so you know whether it’s safe to ship, if special packaging is needed, or if you should hold the order until conditions improve.

Note: Weather Check is currently in beta testing and is available only to whitelisted plant sellers.

What is Weather Check?

Weather Check is a built-in tool in Seller Hub that reviews the weather forecast at the buyer’s delivery address before you ship. It helps you make informed decisions and protect your products from temperature damage.

For each order, Weather Check provides one of the following recommendations:

  • Ship now — Safe to ship.

  • Add insulation — Mild temperature risk; insulation is advised.

  • Add heat pack — Cold weather conditions; heat protection required.

  • Add cold pack — Hot weather conditions; cooling protection required.

  • Hold shipment — Temperatures are outside the safe range; shipping is not recommended.

This tool is especially useful for plant sellers or anyone shipping temperature-sensitive goods.
